On Monday, July 7, 2025, the Walnut Creek School District Governing Board unanimously approved the appointment of Mr. Michael Corritone as Director of Special Education and Ms. Becca Rogers as Assistant Director of Innovation and Technology.
Michael is an extraordinary leader. His passion, commitment and knowledge of special education make him the perfect fit for this position. The opportunity to fill this vacancy in our Special Education Department with an internal leader ensures ongoing support for our staff, students and families. As he shared with our trustees, “I am excited to take on this new and important position because of the opportunity to continue to serve our community in a new capacity in which I am able to support the needs of all students, especially those who need our attention most.”
As Mr. Corritone transitions to his new position, Indian Valley will be undergoing a leadership change and we will welcome a new principal in the coming weeks.
I am also pleased to share that Ms. Becca Rogers will fill the position of Assistant Director of Innovation and Technology. Becca has an extensive background in leadership as she previously held the position of Head of People & Talent and Chief Operations Officers for various Bay Area Startup Companies. Becca has also led communications and social media initiatives for the Walnut Creek School District during the 2024-25 school year.
I am thrilled to fill each of these positions with internal employees. Both Michael and Becca are valuable assets to our district, and I am confident they will be outstanding in their new roles. Please join me in congratulating both Michael and Becca.
